Learning reminders and notifications

Two separate switches: reminders on your children's devices, and updates on yours.

Reminders are how we reach your children directly. Their accounts have no email and no phone number, so a notification on their own device is the only way we can nudge them back to a lesson before a streak breaks. It takes two switches. You allow reminders for the family, then each child turns notifications on for the device they actually use. Separately, you can allow notifications on your own device to hear when a lesson is finished or a badge lands. The card on your dashboard always shows which of these is still missing.

  1. On your dashboard, use the reminders card at the top, or tap Notifications in the top bar.
  2. Turn on Allow reminders for the family. Your children can then switch reminders on themselves, and each earns 100 coins the first time they do.
  3. To hear from us on your own device, tap Turn on notifications on the same card and accept your browser's prompt.
If you blocked notifications by accident
Once you block notifications, a website can never ask again. Nothing we show you can undo it. You have to clear the block in your browser's own settings for this site, and the card on your dashboard tells you exactly where to find it for the browser you're using. It updates on its own once you do, so there is no need to reload.
Turning them off
Switching Allow reminders off removes reminders from every one of your children's devices at once. Your own notifications are separate and are controlled in your browser's site settings. Billing and security messages always reach you by email whatever you choose.
